iPad 3 Next Week – March 7th

Apple Inc is hosting a media event next Wednesday, where it is expected to unveil a faster, better-equipped version of its popular iPad tablet to thwart increasing competition from deep-pocketed rivals such as Amazon.com Inc.

The invitation-only event will be held at 1 p.m. EST (1800 GMT) on March 7 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, where it also introduced the last two generations of iPads.
Apple, which sent the invitation to reporters by email on Tuesday, did not divulge details of the event beyond saying: “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”
The invitation featured a partial picture of the touchscreen of a device resembling an iPad.

Apple launches are some of the hottest events on the tech calendar, scrutinized by fans, investors, the media and industry insiders alike.

The iPad has dominated the nascent tablet computer market, but Amazon’s Kindle Fire, which sells at half the cost, has chipped away at the lower end of the market.

The third iteration of a device that has helped put pressure on demand for traditional laptops and computers is expected to boast a faster, quad-core processor, and a higher-definition screen.
Some analysts and industry experts expect 4G wireless capability, ensuring that the iPad remains current as cutting-edge broadband technology from Verizon Wireless and other carriers gains momentum. Verizon Wireless is a venture of Verizon Communications Inc and Vodafone Group Plc.

“The picture is zoomed in on an icon and I don’t see any pixels in that icon,” Avi Greengart, analyst at Current Analysis, said, underscoring how industry experts pick apart even Apple’s communiques for hints of what to expect.

“You don’t need exceptional foresight to guess that Apple is likely looking at a higher resolution display.”

Ipad3: High-End Professional Video Camera

In three separate incidences over the weekend, insiders have leaked iPad 3 photos alluding to the design and purported parts for the soon-to-be-released tablet. Here’s a look at the shots, where they came from, and what they tell us.
8-megapixel camera
The first of three leaks published on Chinese blog, Apple Daily, displays a side-by-side comparison of the iPad’s shells from its first to third generation. The purported iPad 3 in the comparison displays a noticeable difference in the circumference of the rear-facing camera, assumed to be making space for an 8-megapixel camera. The case’s design itself, while exhibiting little difference from its second-generation predecessor as we’ve expected, may come with a noticeably beveled edge, likely in an effort to fit in a larger battery. We should expect the iPad 3 to trump the 10-hour battery life on its predecessor.

Dual-core A5X
A second leaked photo that sprang up on the Chinese site, WeiPhone, suggests that the iPad 3’s processor will be a quicker dual-core A5X, an upgrade from the dual-core A5, which can be clocked up to 1GHz and debuted in the iPad 2. The news of the A5X may come as a disappointment for those who were expecting the newer A6 quad-core processor. But all hope isn’t lost. According to MacRumors, the A5X processor was created in November 2011, which could very well mean that Apple disguised the A6 as an A5X to prevent a leak such as this. The second possibility: The A5X was a mere stand-in prototype, because Apple is known to create multiple prototypes before finalizing the specifications.

9.7-inch display
Finally, a rumorby yet another professional video cameras website, 3dhdgear.com, offers a glimpse at purported iPad 3 displays packaged to be shipped out. The forum confirms a 9.7-inch, high-resolution 2048 x 1536 Retina Display, but also includes a “dual LED display.” Samsung’s manufacturer, Radiant Opto-Electronics factory in Wujiang, China, is reported to be the supplier and will be shipping out the product to Samsung in South Korea.

With the iPad 3 anticipated March 7 unveiling quickly approaching, everything we’ve been expecting in the iPad 3 remains for the most part, unchanged.

iPad 3 by the end of March

Rumors are rife that Apple may release the all new iPad 3 by the end of March. Apple has scheduled a media event next month on March 29. News leaked by the nearby electronic makers say that many high tech components have been sent to Apple since the last quarter of 2011.

The TSMC- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has received a really big ‘order’ for 28nm APUs from AMD (Advanced Micro Devices). AMD confirmed this Friday that it will shake hands with TSMC to manufacture 28nm Krishna Wichita accelerated processing unit (APUs) during the initial phase.

Because of the Chinese New Year, the launch of iPad 3 has been postponed till the end of March instead of beginning of March. This long holiday season brought disappointment to the millions of Apple’s fans for delayed date of iPad 3’s release.

The new iPad 3 is slated to be thinner and lighter and it will also have an A6 quad-core processor. March 29 is not far away, very soon, we might see people playing around with the super-power quad-core iPad 3.

A wave of new iPad rumors…1-3-12

First, Let’s address the most credible information circulating out there centered on the screen and battery.

Screen: High probability that a QXGA, 2048×1536 display-toting iPad is coming, Richard Shim, an analyst at DisplaySearch, told CNET on Thursday, reiterating, in part, what he said earlier. “They started making the panels in November. In the first quarter, they’re going to do about 8 million,” he said. Suppliers include Sharp and LG Display.

Apple is also expected to tap IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology, courtesy of Sharp, for the next iPad instead of in-plane switching (IPS), used currently. Devices using IGZO displays can be thinner with longer battery life, among other benefits.

And an iPad with a 7.85-inch screen is still being entertained as a possibility for late in the year, Shim said.

Bigger, better Battery: This report in DigiTimes is also credible. “The battery capacity for the high-end version of Apple’s new iPad…will be increased to 14,000mAH…according to industry sources,” said DigiTimes. The iPad 2 has a battery rated at 6930 mAh.

“A bulked up battery would make sense,” said Shim. “And certainly a more efficient device is a possibility because now you have a panel with more pixels to light up,” he said.

Timing and price: Two new iPads in January 2012, according to DigiTimes. One for Apple’s traditional high-end segment and one–reportedly an iPad 2–that will be kicked down to a lower price tier to compete with Amazon’s Kindle Fire, according to the report.

Not likely, said Shim. At least not so low to compete directly with the $199 Kindle Fire. “Apple doesn’t want to erode their margins. They don’t want to create any hint of a second-class product. They have no reason. They’re selling as many as they can make. And this next-generation device is going to reinforce that supply-demand dynamic,” he said.

And timing for the next-gen iPad? January is “a little suspect,” said Shim. “When they make them available they want to have as many as possible. And my sense is that they will wait rather than make them immediately available,” he said. That would put actual shipment of the next iPad later in the first quarter.

Apple A6 processor: The status of the A6 is a bit of a mystery. We know that Samsung, most likely, will make the processor at its Austin, Texas facility–which was built to supply processors to Apple, according to a Reuters report (and according to a source who CNET has spoken to).

But it’s not clear when this will debut in an Apple product. When it does, it would likely appear first in an iPad then trickle down to the iPhone, per Apple’s past practices. And the A6 will likely have more processor cores. But not all cores are created equal. Apple may add specialized cores rather than simply general-purpose cores, as Nvidia has done with its Tegra 3, which has four general-purpose cores and a fifth power-saving core.

iTV HDTV Streaming Set For November 2012

Speculation surrounding the Apple iTV has continued to grow and Ipadbuzz says the rumored Internet television is on track to be released in November of 2012.

Earlier this month we heard that Apple was busy taking meetings with content producers and “media executives,” which likely has something to do with streaming and downloading services that are supposedly being built into the device. We’ve gotten wind of a variety of features that could be included in the iTV such as Apple will go head to head with Netflix and Amazon streaming TV.   The pricing point is targeted to be 9.99 per month that includes HDTV.

Unlike, other false rumors of smaller iTVs. The First gen units will apparently range between 50- and 70-inches.  The display will be the best on the market.  The sarting price tag is estimated to be $1,999.  iTV might not be able to draw as heavily from this loyal pool as its mobile products have, and Apple might be trying to address this risk with the smaller sets. Hopefully we’ll find out as supply chain and timeline details continue to surface.

Apple Inc is expected to unveil its much-awaited new iPhone next week.

Apple Inc is expected to unveil its much-awaited new iPhone next week.

Apple on Tuesday invited media to a “special event” titled “Let’s talk iPhone” to be held at its headquarters in Cupertino next Tuesday on Oct 4th, 2011.

The invitation did not contain any other details and a call to Apple was not immediately returned.

iPhone 5 Release Date

Apple is expected to hold a special event in the first week of October 2011.  The new iPhone 5  and Apple TV will be the focus.

iPhone 5 Sprint

Apple has plans to launch two new versions of the popular iPhone, with both new models hitting stores at the same time this fall according to rumors.  Both an all-new iPhone as well as a new and improved version of the current iPhone 4.

Our research indicates that there will be an iPhone 5 based on a lighter, thinner form factor that is GSM + CDMA capable and can be used on Sprint.  A second device (4-plus) based on the current iPhone 4, but with some minor improvements is targeting China.

iPad Typing Tips: How to Type efficiently on the iPad

I know from personal experience that typing on an iPad isn’t exactly the greatest experience. There obviously isn’t an emphasis on user experience in that Arena. Hopefully we’ll see some improvements.

TIPB has a good post outlining some nice tips that go a long way with helping you type faster and more efficiently

  • If you fast access to accented characters, for example [é], just tap and hold the base character you want and the accented variations will pop up for easy entry. This also works on specialized keyboards, for example you can press and hold [.com] to get [.net] [.org] etc.
  • To get quicker caps, instead of tapping shift and then the letter, just touch shift and then drag you finger to the letter and release. The closer the letter is to the shift key, the faster it is.
  • Rapid numbers work the same way. Just touch the number key [.?123], slide up to the number or punctuation/symbol character you want, and let go. It’s great if you just want a single number or character in between typing a lot of letters. (If you want to type a series of numbers you’re still better off tapping the number key, then typing your numbers, then tapping the letters key [ABC] to go back to the alphabet.
  • At first glance it looks like Apple forgot the apostrophe/single quote ['] on the first level of the iPad keyboard. You don’t have to hit the number key to get it, however. Just touch the [!,] key and hold for a second, and the ['] magically appears above it. Tap for your apostrophe, or to combine these tips, just touch [!,] and swipe up and boom, instant apostrophe.
